Teachers of the Year

A treasured tradition of the California Science and Engineering Fair is the recognition of a "Teacher of the Year". At a typical fair, the California Science Center staff takes great pride in researching, identifying and awarding this honor to an outstanding educator who exemplifies the spirit of scientific education.

Due to the unusual constraints imposed this year by the mandated response to COVID-19 and the completely virtual nature of the fair, the California Science Center team was unable to select an educator in the usual manner.

In this new age of remote and hybrid learning we feel it appropriate to declare this year, that all teachers, adapting their traditional lesson plans, embracing the sea of new technologies and continuing to educate, motivate and inspire our students have earned the mantle of "Teacher of the Year".

We know that behind every student in the fair stand teachers, coaches, faculty, parents, mentors and/or advisors who have given generously of their energy, knowledge, wisdom and time. Here, in this 70th annual fair, we are honored to recognize and salute you all for your boundless service, care and dedication.
